Veezal
One of the four protagonists of Crooked Wings, along with Zelrik, Kaiyara, and Tawnette.
Birthday: 14-8-534 in Nymska of the Vyerakh Empire
Brief timeline:
Age 0-18, finishes primary and secondary education
Age 18-22, tertiary education in history and literature
Age 22-27 repeated failures at the family business
Age 27, present day, shows up in Cordann. The 'Crooked Wings' story begins.
Veezal has a lot of cousins and his share of siblings. But most of them behave in manners deemed appropriate by the Birb-German nobility he belongs to. Not Veezal. He's always been distractible, moody, and combative.
His family pushes him towards Violet Fulgurite work in the far off lands of Cordann (where the story takes place), telling him that he can win them some money and prestige there in the lucrative industry. The unspoken part is that he can't embarrass them anymore if he emigrates.
Because Veezal was raised with concerns about how as a Princeling that the family's identity and his identity are one and the same, he's shrugged off a good deal of their annoyance (instead of loathing them for failing to tolerate and/or love him)
Veezal is quite rational when it comes to negative outside feedback, and isn't preoccupied with whether others find him special or not. At Veezal's best, he is creative and brilliant. At his worst, he is likely to ignore how his thoughts and actions may hurt himself and others.

I feel like this is a good example of a 'fight song' for Veezal. It represents his undying confidence. even when faced with overwhelming odds.
