(VEEZAL RUNTHROUGH)
N: okay Veezal! Rise and shine!
It's time for your first day at work. Isn't that fascinating?
V: here I go! A new home!
N: Cordann! A land of dreams! Far away from home and all of its messiness. Up and at 'em!
V: im at it!!
N: So convenient that we didn't need to do an apartment search. Very nice of Ultraviolet Industries Inc to provide us with free lodgings!
V: PERKS!
[TUTORIAL SCRIPT}
Lornix: Hello! I'm Lornix, and this is Pryden!
Pryden: Hallo [awkward pause after text screen changes to a Pryden who is silent but smiling: "..."]
Veezal: [Well,] Nice to meet you both!
Lornix: One of your primary tasks is to help mitigate any on-site disasters. Your resume says you don't have any direct experience with that? [As a (job title) your primary task is to deal with Emergency Disaster Management. HR flagged you for training, if I remember correctly your resume didn't list direct experience with that.]
Veezal: lolno [slightly embarrassed: Right.]
Pryden: lol [cuts to Pryden again, still smiling: "..."]
Lornix: Right! Well, thankfully we have a corporate on-site training program to run you through! [to certify you for Emergency Disaster Management] (I like this because the acronym of EDM could be a little funny elsewhere, while not a music type in this universe folks with general music knowledge will get it) [Usually we'd have a group of on-boarding employees to train at a time, but the other 3 recruits are completing EDM training at (other location), you'll meet up with them in (place).]
<MIDDLE>
Veezal: That's it?
Lornix: That's about it!
Veezal: Huh (is this a feeling of victory over a challenge or that it was less than expected?)
Pryden: 'Sup? [cut to Pryden, smile drops, and confused repeats: "Huh?"]
Veezal: I dunno. I thought the job training would be... longer [for a primary duty]? Not just a one-day thing [course? (vs. "thing")]?
Lornix: No need for that! I have full confidence that you're more than prepared for your duties. [Adding on to that: "We specifically hire those who are strong and quick learners. I'm sure you'll be able to adapt quickly.]
Pryden: Our department ran out of money for the training budget lmao [(for a contrast with Lornix's last statement maybe replace current Pryden line with: "...quickly. "..." (after a pause) "Training is expensive." (for it to be quicker drop the first "...quickly" of Pryden parroting Lornix]
Lornix: That is also true! [laughs nervously: "We wouldn't want to waste such skill with mundane training sessions when there are profitable industries you and your team are going to keep running smoothly!]
Veezal: Well. It's better than nothing. Thanks for your help! [trying to be optimistic and look good in front of his new management: Of course! I'm sure everything will click on the job. Thanks for clarifying that!]
Lornix: You're welcome! [+Anytime!]
Pryden: [cuts to Pryden smiling, maybe clapping?:] Yay{!]
(after a day of work)
Supervisor N: Alright! That's the end of the day!
V: I'm new to Mt Girava. What are some things to do?
Supervisor N: A bunch of us are going out for drinks, you're more than welcome to come along! But if you're looking for something more active, there's lots of other stuff.
There's our SOCIAL JUSTICE program where some of us volunteer!
We've got a in-house gymnasium that a lot of employees enjoy!
And if you like more indoorsy stuff, we have a book club!
V: HMMM. Let me think about it!
<dialogue branches>
[EVENING]
N: well that was nice! What to do now?
V: HMMM. Well, I do need to keep an eye on the house. I should also keep up to date with <my hobbies>. But sleep is important!
<choice>
